• Calculus consists of inorganic and organic components.
• Trace amounts of zinc, strontium, bromine, copper, manganese, gold and aluminium are also seen. At least, two thirds of inorganic component is crystalline in structure.
• The main crystal forms are: Hydroxyapatite(58%), Magnesium whitlockite, Octacalcium phosphate and Brushite.
