•            Increased thickness of the apical root canal walls and diffuse mineralization in the apical root canal are an indication that mineralized tissue-forming cells have migrated into the apical canal space to form mineralized tissue in the modified apexification procedure.

•            In an animal study, it was shown histologically that cementum like tissue was deposited on the apical canal walls and bonelike tissue deposited in the apical canal space of the 1–3mm unfilled apical canal if the apical foramina were enlarged to size 40 to 80 K-files without inducing bleeding into the apical canal space.

•            These tissues are similar to the tissues observed in the canal spaces of human immature permanent teeth with necrotic pulp/apical periodontitis after are generative endodontic procedure.
